"For several years, residents living near the Federal Agriculture and Agri-Food Research and Development center have been working to resolve long-standing concerns related to property lines, fencing, and the overall respect for established neighbourhood boundaries. These issues have affected homeowners’ sense of security, privacy, and confidence in the integrity of their properties. The community has consistently asked for clear communication, fair treatment, and compliance with the same standards expected of any neighbouring landowner.

Throughout this process, Councillor Peter Cuddy has been an active point of contact for the residents’ spokesperson and has helped elevate the issue within the appropriate channels at the federal government, as well as brought public support to our issues. His involvement has focused on ensuring that residents’ concerns are formally acknowledged and continues to advocate for a resolution that respects established property lines and neighbourhood expectations.

His efforts have contributed to keeping the matter visible, organized, and progressing through the appropriate administrative pathways. While the ultimate authority rests with federal officials, his role has helped ensure that the community’s perspective remains clearly represented.

"When I first met Peter, it was at Beacock Library. He, along with other candidates, was going to tell us why we should pick them. After years of having an absent councillor, I wanted someone who would make a difference in our Ward 3 by responding to and addressing our issues. It turned out that Peter was just that person.

His words became action to make our ward a better, cleaner area. We have received a new 4-way stop from what was a 2-way stop, and this has helped with speeding vehicles. We also have been experiencing a new sidewalk that was put in. Unfortunately, he can’t please everyone, but for the most part, people with small kids and the elderly like to walk on it instead of the road. He makes an appearance on a regular basis and never ignores addressing anyone’s issues. I have seen him go above and beyond with what no one else would do, including disgusting garbage in yards and sheds, which resulted in a total of 45 bags of garbage at just one rental house. Without Peter being hands-on, involved, and taking control of this situation, the garbage would be piling up to this day.

Peter never shies away from a call or voicemail. He always calls or texts with a follow-up on situations and is ready for the next project. He is not just our Ward 3 Councillor; he is a welcome family member to the residents in Ward 3."
